Theatre Louisiane's sixth production was Christopher Durang's celebrated satire of contemporary life, Laughing Wild, and it featured resident artist Amy Woodruff as The Woman and Daniel LaForce as The Man. A lively, thought-provoking comedy that explored daily life in urban America, it touched on the Catholic Church, Sally Jessy Raphael, sexuality and homosexuality, mental illness, the new age movement, AIDS, and tuna fish, all in no particular order. The heart of the play dealt with the full-circle process of human empathy that can occur between two very conflicting people. Laughing Wild was Theatre Louisiane's first full-length theatre project. Mainstage performances were May 10-13, 17, 18, & 20, 2001 at 8pm, & May 20, 2001 at 4pm. All shows took place at The Pickery of New Orleans, Louisiana. Tickets were $10 general admission. This show was made possible in part by Quarter Scene Restaurant and Rue de la Course Coffeehouses. Laughing Wild was produced in special arrangement with Dramatists Play Service, Inc.
