Theatre Louisiane's second project was Grief Doubled: Kreon & Antigone, and was a twenty minute adaptation of Sophokles' classic tragedy Antigone, which dates from 450 BCE Greece. The piece, developed and performed by Theatre Louisiane's Artistic Director, resident artist Amy Woodruff, was an intense study of the primary characters of the famous tale, and explored tyranny, defiance, and violence. The piece was intended to transcend typical realism through the use of five handmade masks (designed by by Woodruff), stylized hand props, minimalistic costumes, an intimate bare stage, interpretive movement, and progressive music clips to create percussive tension.

Grief Doubled was performed at 8:15 pm at the seventh annual DramaRama Theater Festival at New Orleans' Contemporary Arts Center, 900 Camp Street.
